Our Promise
Every price agreed before a spanner is picked up. Every fault proved, never guessed. Everything we advise, written down — including what you turned down.
You know the price before we start
You get a written quote before any work begins, with parts and labour shown separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for. MOT, servicing and diagnostic prices are published on our website — we do not hide them behind a phone call. If the vehicle turns out to need more than we quoted, we stop, ring you, explain what we found and what it costs, and wait for your answer. We never go beyond what you authorised.
We prove faults, we do not guess them
A warning light is a starting point, not a diagnosis. We test with dealer-level equipment — JLR SDD and Pathfinder, BMW ISTA, VAG ODIS, Mercedes Star — and we work from the manufacturer's own technical data, wiring diagrams and specifications. A part is only condemned when a measurement shows it has failed against the manufacturer's figure. That is why we do not fit parts on a hunch and then charge you again when it does not fix it.
Everything is written down — including what you declined
Each job carries a record of what we found, what we measured, what we advised, and what you agreed to. If we advised a repair and you chose to leave it, that is printed on your invoice with the date and the reason we gave. Nothing is remembered differently later. If you sell the car, that history is evidence of how it has been looked after.
Our guarantee, and what it honestly does not cover
Parts we supply and work we carry out are guaranteed for 6 months unless your invoice states longer. It covers what we fitted and what we did. It does not cover other parts we were not asked to repair, wear and tear, accident damage, or a repair that failed because a related part we advised replacing was declined. We say so plainly up front rather than reaching for it afterwards.
We only fit parts we supply
We do not fit customer-supplied parts. It is not about the margin — we cannot guarantee a part we did not source, and if it fails we cannot stand behind the repair. Everything we fit is a genuine, OE or OE-equivalent part we can warrant, and we will tell you which grade you are getting and why.
Your dealer warranty stays intact
Servicing your car with an independent specialist does not void a manufacturer warranty (EU Block Exemption Regulation 461/2010). We service to the manufacturer's schedule, use the correct specification oils and parts, and stamp your book — digitally where the manufacturer uses a digital record.
Dealer standards without dealer prices
We are a DVSA-approved MOT station with two fully equipped workshops in Hitchin and Bedford, JLR-trained technicians, EV and hybrid qualified staff with 1000V-rated test equipment, ADAS calibration, and four-wheel laser alignment. Most customers pay 40-60% less than a franchised dealer for the same specification of work.
If we get something wrong
Bring it back to us first, before anyone else touches it, so we can see the cause for ourselves. We would rather put it right than argue about it. Nothing in how we work takes away your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Frequently asked questions
Will you do work I have not agreed to?
No. You authorise the work and the price before we begin, and we contact you for a fresh decision before doing anything beyond it. Every authorisation is recorded with the date, time and how it was given.
Does using an independent garage void my manufacturer warranty?
No. Under EU Block Exemption Regulation 461/2010 you may have your car serviced by any qualified garage without losing the manufacturer warranty, provided the correct schedule, specification parts and fluids are used. We service to manufacturer schedule and stamp your service record.
Why will you not fit a part I bought myself?
Because we cannot guarantee a part we did not supply. If it fails, we could not stand behind the repair or the labour. Everything we fit is a genuine, OE or OE-equivalent part we can warrant.
How do I know a fault is real and not just a part swap?
We test against the manufacturer's own specification with dealer-level diagnostic equipment and condemn a component only when a measurement proves it has failed. The readings are recorded on your job so you can see what was found.
What happens if I decline advised work?
We record it. The item, the risk we explained and the date you declined are printed on your invoice. We carry on with the work you did authorise, and the guarantee on that work stands, except where the failure was caused by the declined item.
How long is your work guaranteed?
Six months on parts we supply and work we carry out, unless a longer period is stated on your quote or invoice.
Are your prices published?
Yes. MOT, interim service, full service and diagnostic investigation prices are shown on our car service prices page, and any repair is quoted in writing with parts and labour separated before it starts.
